Since 2026

A small room behind a bakery.

Kakpokayfu started as a way to stop buying the same thin cutting board every other year. The first dozen were for friends. The ones that came back nicked, stained and still flat were the ones we kept making.

The studio is two people. Wood is milled and oiled here. Linen is cut and hemmed here. Clay is thrown with a ceramicist we share a kiln with in Vallila, and the carafes come from a glass workshop an hour out of the city. We put our name on a thing only after we’ve used a sample in the kitchen for a month.

We are not a lifestyle brand. There is no seasonal colour story. If you need a gift and you don’t know the person’s taste, the breakfast board is the safe one. If you know they cook, send the pourer.
